The
land of ancient Patliputra will see a confluence of scientific minds
in December 2007. The annual event, Scientific Foresight 2007,
is going to be held in Patna, the ancient intellectual capital of
India, from 22nd to 24th December 2007 at S K
Memorial Hall.
This
event is being organized at a grand scale this year and will witness
the clarion call to reclaim Bihar's rightful place as the
intellectual power center of India in light of the fact that Bihar
was the most revered seat of higher education throughout the world in
ancient times (Nalanda University) and she gave birth to ancient
geniuses like Aryabhatt (inventor of Zero), Rishi Shushrut (Father of
surgery), and Chanakya (Father of Economics and political
Science).
The event aims at providing a platform for free
scientific interaction between established scientists and budding
scientific talents. It endeavours to provide an opportunity for
budding talents to learn about the technologies of the future as well
as present their own scientific work in front of the experts for
critical evaluation and discussion.
This year's event is
likely to see some stalwarts from around the world participating.
Noted among them are Mr. Mehmood Khan (Global Innovation Leader,
Unilever), Ms. Manjeet Kripalani (Business Week), Jessica Wallack
(Strategic Advisor & Research Affiliate at California Institute
for Information Technology and Telecommunications)
The event
will see paper presentation and panel discussion on subjects ranging
from biotech to nanotech, physics to genetics, polymers to robotics,
artificial intelligence to open source computing, semantic web to
wikinomics, among other captivating subjects which hold the promise
of the future.
A
total of 2500 students and 200 experts from technical institutes and
engineering colleges will be participating in this year's edition.
The
theme of the event is "INTELLIGENCE UNLEASHED"
